U.S. Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps is featured in the new Louis Vuitton ad sitting in a bathtub wearing a Speedo and goggles.
After an outstanding performance at the London Olympics and subsequently announcing he was retiring from competitive swimming, Phelps, 27, isn’t shying away from the public eye. Featured in a new Louis Vuitton ad, Phelps is also pictured with a leather Louis Vuitton duffle bag.
Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time, conquering a record 22 medals between the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games.
World-famous photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the ad, which is part of a major fashion endorsement Phelps signed with the famous French fashion house, in a campaign titled “Core Values” that follows in the footsteps of actors Sean Connery and Catherine Deneuve. In additional ads for the campaign, Phelps is featured with former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina, who won 18 medals in her Olympic career.
