In celebration of the 2012 Olympic Games, set to take place in London, famed fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz was commissioned by Vogue to shoot an Olympic-inspired cover spread on the sultry beaches of Miami.
The photographer, who was recently honored with the 7th MOCA Award to Distinguished Women in the Arts in Los Angeles, worked with supermodel Karlie Kloss and eight American athletes who will be competing for the gold medal in this year’s games. Vogue’s June issue features Miami’s own Dwyane Wade, as well as Ashton Eaton, Serena Williams, Mike and Bob Bryan, Jonathan Horton, Hope Solo and Ryan Lochte.
